Sunset Motel
Cie Gilles Jobin / Nadasdy Film / Floréal Films / 2026
World premiere planned for Q2 2026.
Overview
Sunset Motel is an immersive VR short set in the Californian desert along Route 66. In a black-and-white, dialogue-free journey, the viewer enters a motel inhabited by marginal, spectral figures—an unsettling world inspired by the dark imagery of Swiss illustrator Thomas Ott.
Narrative premise
You arrive as a new guest at the Sunset Motel. From room to room, you encounter presences that feel half-real, half-memory, until the experience shifts and you realize you’ve become a passenger of a ghost—carried through the motel’s final loop.
What I did
As Motion Capture Master & Creative Technologist, my work focused on the performance-capture side of the immersive pipeline:
- Supervising motion capture sessions (technical coordination + capture quality)
- Ensuring clean take management and robust data handoff for retargeting / animation
- Developping a robust retargeting pipeline
- Supporting real-time / XR constraints (stability, repeatability, troubleshooting)
